With Jamie in college soon, this will probably be my main PC for several years to come. Couldn’t resist snapping up Dell’s XPS 630. Core 2 Duo Quad Core 2.4 ghz processor, overclockability via the BIOS, tons of features. Specs are on the next photo page.

Question by Tom: What’s the best wireless router on the market?
I need something that can deal with A LOT of usage from 4 computers simultaneously (+ an iPhone 4). So I need something with pretty high bandwidth and a big range (I’ve got a fairly large house) of wireless connectivity.

2 computers are wired but I will need 2 more LAN ports, one for the TV and one for Powerlink Connectors upstairs. and 2 are wireless. The iPhone will obviously be connected wirelessly, too.

Thanks! I don’t really know where to look but at the moment I’ve got a BT Homehub 2.0 and I’m having bandwidth problems (I think) as I can’t connect more than 2 or three appliances to the internet at any one time and have to reset the router BT provided me with every time I want to change what PC is connected.
PS: I’ve tried “Google-ing” it but there’s too much choice and I’m unsure about which brands are trustworthy etc.

Thanks for all forthcoming help!

Honestly any router will be able to handle that kind of usage. The thing you need to worry about is range maybe. Try and find a wireless N 300+ with 3 antennas and it should do the job just fine. Buffalo is good, Asus is good. Just read some reviews.

What customers say about DD-WRT – Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N Gigabit Router Repeater Bridge Dual Band + 9dBi Antenna VPN Ready WiFi WAN Wireless N Access Point AP 300Mbps [DD-WRT PREINSTALLED]?

  1. Most router will do the job, but the one brand is horrible for high usage is Belkin. I owned 2 and both were unreliable.
