Question by lynx2051: Wireless Keyboard Problem?
When my wireless keyboard is installed the sound from my speakers is jerky, but its fine when the keyboard is uninstalled, I checked the system requirements and my computer meets them all, do you think its just faulty?

Best answer:

Answer by C E
Sounds like your speakers are not shielded and the RF from the wireless transmitter is zapping your unshielded speakers.

Wrap some aluminum foil around them and see if it quits.

What do you think? Answer below!

I received two of them. I was so disappointed with the first one that I thought it had to be defective, so Roker USA graciously sent me another one. It was the same.

    Description
The device plays audio from Bluetooth, 3.5″ stereo line in, or SD card. It functions as a wireless speakerphone with a built in mic. It also has a built in FM tuner. Size: think of a square Pringles can laying down, but 2/3 the length. It comes with a mini USB charging cord and a 3.5″ audio patch cable.

There is no display, but there are two LEDs behind the front grill: blue as bluetooth connection indicator, and red power/charging indicator. There is a slider on/off switch in the back next to the SD card slot, charging port, and line in port. There are four buttons on the top:
    [ + / |<< ] (skip next, hold for Volume up)
    [ M ] (mode change)
    [ Play/Pause/Answer ]
[ >>| – ] (skip previous, hold for Volume down)

    Pros:
    – the unit was shipped quickly, accurately, and arrived in good condition.
    – it has an attractive exterior, and has a solid weight that feels good in the hand.
    – good quality fit and finish; it looks and feels like it should cost 5x the price.
    – it can play loud!
    – established Bluetooth connections easily.
    – built in battery charges quickly.
    – responsive customer service.

    Cons (major)
    – no bass sound at all. None. “Enhanced bass” my @$$.
    – there is a constant and very noticeable digital interference when playing sound or music over Bluetooth, almost like an older unshielded cell phone is nearby.
    – initial volume is very loud (just no bass). The volume ranges between ear piercing loud and just loud… there is no soft or low volume setting.
    – holding the Vol- button too long (to keep turning the volume down) sometimes causes the unit to crash and reset.

    Cons (minor)
    – buttons are reversed: [ + / |<< ] (skip next, vol up) is on the left, while the [ >>| – ] (skip prev, vol down) button is on the right.
    – there is a loud and annoying “ding dong” sound effect every time you turn it on, when Bluetooth connects, and when you change modes.
    – FM radio is clumsy: before you can tune a station, first you need to manually hold down a button to let it scan for and locate the current stations; this takes a minute or so. Only then can you press >>| and |<< buttons to tune a station.
    – You need to supply your own USB power source or adapter. Not a big deal for the price.

I tested both units out using multiple devices (Samsung Note II, iPad Air, laptop), using both Bluetooth and line in connections. Sound quality was clear but married by the Bluetooth digital interference and lack of bass.

Overall, I would NOT recommend this device for anyone. You’ll find better sound quality and functionality for the same price ($25) elsewhere.

    EDIT Feb 5, 2014
I’ve been much more impressed with the sound and functionality from the Anker portable Bluetooth speaker, even though it is much smaller and a bit cheaper. Just got a sample for testing from the seller last week .
So far – so good. I have no idea what to expect. — for $29.00 compared to $149.00 for the name brand — this is just exceed my expectation so much.
1,easily to pairing both iphone and ipad, range about 20 feet
2,it’s very loud indeed, the seller described insanely loud,100% agree
3,long battery life, 7 hours straight playing at fair volume
4,substantial and nicely built, no silly accent voice announcement
Do yourself a favor and buy this – unless you are more concerned with wasting money on a jawbone just because of the name.
(The instructions leave a lot to be desired for the US market — but don’t let that dissuade you. You can play around with the controls and figure it out pretty easily. The instructions make sense about 10 minutes after you figure it out for yourself!!)

No directions, button “images” make no sense, annoying doorbell sound anytime you change modes…sound is awful. I feel duped by the other reviews.
