Question by PJ: how does a wireless router work?
just bought Belkin wireless router for my HP laptop. Connected with software. How does it work?

Best answer:

Answer by BigE
You need to have/get an ISP feed, either DSL/Cable or Fiber. These are usually modems, the input is DSL (like phone) cable or fiber and the output is Ethernet. This will plug into the WAN side
of your Belkin.

If this is clear, you need to use the CD to configure the router. This is typically:

Establish login/password for the router (which is different for the WPA passwod)
Establish a SSID (the name of the wireless network)
Establish a WPA password for wireless access.
