Easy to Install and It Works!, September 22, 2012
    Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is from: Linksys E1200 Wireless-N Router Recertified (Electronics)

After my last experience with ordering a wireless router for a cheaper price, and having to return my first item ever to Amazon (and I order nearly everything here from coffee to shoes to office supplies to books…) because in order for the router to work it required me to download some crazy ridiculous software I was standoffish to order another one. In fact, if I didn’t invest in an iPhone 4 last month that required a Wi-Fi connection to save on my data I would have not ordered another wireless router. But I did, and I’m so glad that I chose this one.

The router arrived promptly and came with a CD for installation, power cord and blue cable. No manual, which made me a little anxious. I put the CD into my computer as requested, followed the simple instructions (that did not involve going into my computer’s control panel to configure a bunch of codes and keys like the other router). I followed the directions for plugging in the router into the power cord and my existing wired router. Within five minutes of opening the box I had full bars on my laptop. Cha-ching!

I did have the option to update the system after I got connected, which I opted for, and the Internet still works. It also hooked up to my iPhone 4 with no problems. Otherwise, I have had the Internet for a week and have had only one incident of dropped Internet, but that is due to a regular update from my DSS provider and it occurs at night when most people are asleep, so would normally not be a problem. The connection went off at that time and came right back on; I wouldn’t have even known about it if I weren’t working online. Also I have moved the phone into the bathroom and into two different bedrooms in our one story home and the service dropped one bar in these rooms when the doors were closed but went back to full three bars when I opened them.

I’ll post an update in the next few months about the service. Hope this helps resolve any questions you have about purchasing this quite affordable wireless router.

No issued with it being refurbished. It does carry only a 90 day warranty.
Replaced a Linksys E1000. The E1000 required occasionally unplugging and re-plugging the internet connection or power cycling, most often related to the access restrictions function. This function has been replaced with parental controls which is easier to use and works more reliably. The signal seems to reach a tiny bit farther.

Cheap And Works Very Well On Comcast, November 14, 2012

Just started my Comcast, 20 Mbps Down, and this is my first router on this service. Started getting about 6-9 Mbps Down constantly on 3 separate computers (based in different spots, this review being typed in the furthest of all). Then turned off WMM and now I’m closer to that 20 Mbps area.

    Type 192.168.1.1 in a browser.
    Click Applications & Gaming.
    Click QoS
Check the bubble to Disable ‘WMM Support’.
