I have both the Obi200 and the Obi202. They are both set up using a Google Voice account. I sent the 200 to the Congo Africa and the 202 is in the US. The African unit is connected to a WiFi router that is receiving internet through a satellite modem with minimal bandwidth. A call direct to the other Obi unit is nearly flawless most of the time. Once in a while it starts to chop a little, but I chalk it up to the fact that the bandwidth is shared with up to 20 other devices. Calls using the Google account to and from the US are equally as good – very clear, better than a cell phone. Actually, I would say they are as good as a land line. Best of all, since the devices have US numbers, calls from Africa to any other US phone are free for the African caller, and most likely free for the receiver these days. The the same is true for the US device calling the Google number in Africa – FREE. For anyone wanting to do this same kind of setup, the Google accounts have to be set up in the US before being used over seas. You won’t be able to get a Google number over seas. Well, there are ways, but it is involved…Anyway, these are MY experiences and I am a happy customer of Obihai.

Goodbye $30 monthly bill. This little device surpassed my expectations. Bought the WIFI USB adapter and connected to Google Voice. Now, my calls rings on my cell, home phone, and gmail. Voice quality, excellent so far. I expect my cellular usage will go down also. I am a happy camper.

I have the 100 and am ready to move onto the 200 series.
Id advise you Spend$15 more for the 202 which has QoS. your voice packets will get priority over other Internet packets resulting in better call quality.

  4. Connect them both to your wireless network. Google how to setup file sharing over a network for your operating system.

  5. if both computers are on the home network, shared and hard drive map to each other then yes you can file tranfer from one to the other

    or
you can get and RJ45 data cable from radio shack or best buy and use file tranfer wizzard on your new computer and it will do the work for you
    or
you can get USB file tranfer data cable from best buy or radio shack and use tranfer wizzard
    or
get a fire wire and use wizard
    or
    flash drive to copy
    or
buy external hard drive and copy old files to hard drive and then connect to new computer and copy files to new computer

  6. u can use the following
    bluetooth (wireless but slow)
    data cable(wired but fast transfer)
RS232 lan cable or 10 base t lan cable
    u can use pendrive (recommended)
or ftp wizzard (a lots of soft wares are there)

  7. just plug your internet cable into both computers and go to the files and setting transfer wizard

  8. You may try one of existing program, settings and file transfer tools available for Windows 7.
All of them support USB removable storage. Also they support network shares such as network drives.
To calculate speed take in account that USB 2. is 25 MB/s x 2. while wireless is about 3.5 MB/s
    (450 Mb/s theoretical vs 54 Mb/s theoretical)

I am familiar with 5 tools that are able to do that:

    * PCMover – transfers about 250 programs, settings and files, about $ 50.
    * Zinstall – transfers old PC inside a proprietary virtual environment running on Windows 7, about $ 90.
    * Windows 7 Migration – transfers about 30 programs, settings and files, about $ 25
    * Windows Easy Transfer – transfers operating system and program settings and files only, but free.
    * PickMeApp – transfers about a million programs only, but free.
