USB Type A Female to USB Type B Male Adapter

USB Type A Female to USB Type B Male Adapter

USB Type A cables and ports are standard and usually we all have a Type A cable laying around. But what about when you need to connect to a Type B port (found on many peripheral devices like printers and scanners)? Try this handy and convenient adapter. Plug the male Type B end into a port, and use a standard Type A cable with the female Type A side of the adapter. Easy!

  • Quickly & Easily adapts a USB Type B (square) port for use with a typical (rectangle) Type A cable
  • Female Type A (typical) USB on one side, Type B male on the other
  • No drivers/software required

Sometimes little, but important, things like this USB Type A/B adapter are extremely difficult to find in stores around town; but it’s not difficult here.

I needed to convert a square USB to a normal USB and this did the trick. Inexpensive and is still working well right now.

The adapters pictured are not the ones that were shipped to me. I ordered these two times, from two different manufacturers and neither time did I receive what I need. I now have to make returns and cannot use my equipment.

  4. You did not specify the operating systems involved so I will explain based on xp. You need to go to printers and faxes on the pc and right click the printer to share it on the network. Run the network setup wizard on both machines remembering to turn on file and printer sharing then on the laptop go to printers and faxed and click add printer, browse for network printer and it should detect the printer. Remember, the pc and the printer must be on to share in this way.
To share the printer without the pc being on it needs to be a network printer with an ethernet connection that can connect to the router or a printer server which can normally take usb or ethernet.

  5. USUALLY OLD PCs do not have wireless card in them, but if yours have wireless in it, just put the CD for Printer it will take you there step by step,in some Wireless router if you can get a wireless ip address for your printer then go through DHCP AND share the printer it MIGHT work ,not very reliable either.
